Skiing

Kanin is the only ski resort in Slovenia that can boast slopes higher than 2000 metres.

It is situated above Bovec, a town renowned around the world for the Soča River. Kanin is an Alpine ski resort, where the skiing season runs from December through the beginning of May. The pistes on Kanin can be accessed by the cable car. In December 2009 the ski resort Kanin was connected with italian ski resort Sella Nevea and has together 30km of slopes from the altitude 1140 to 2300m above the sea level. The Kanin ski area is recognised for its sunny location and a breathtaking view that stretches from the heart of the Julian Alps to the Adriatic Sea.
