Paragliding
Whoever invented this kind of flying must have experienced the Soča Valley first.
The numerous possibilities for unequalled gliding offered by the slopes and mountains, as well as the great thermal and wind conditions in the Bovec area, are probably unique and can hardly be found elsewhere, especially within such a small territory. Mt. Kanin, Planja and the Mangrt Saddle are all easily accessible and offer great take-off points for flying that can last for hours and cover great distances above the Julian Alps. Accompanied by golden eagles, buzzards and jackdaws above the peaks of the Julian Alps (with a view to the Adriatic Sea toward the south and the mighty massif of the central Alps to the north) as well as by the pleasant sound of the variometer, which tells that the flight may go on for quite a while, one can really experience the joys of the ancient Icarus.
